Question Battery draining?

I had this battery for about 2 years now and its been dying on me quite frequently. I'm sure its time for a new battery except I have one question.
What's draining the battery so fast?
I have remote wires, power wires from the HU thats not connected to an amp just lying around. Could they have caused extra draining on the battery when my car was shut off?

Thanks

Uh... If i remember correctly, thats callled a parasitic drain. If i remember correctly....

What you need to do is get a voltmeter ($20-30 from Sears or something) and un-hook you negative battery cable. Put one lead of the voltmeter on the negative cable itself (the one you disconnect), and then put the other lead onto the negative battery terminal. Now if the voltmeter displays a high voltage reading, say... 2-3 volts or something like that, then something is definitely taking too much power. It's normal to have some type of reading, because some things (clock, etc) always take power.

It i'm wrong in this, someone will chime in eventually. I'll do some research as well to make sure.
