URGENT HELP!!! Rear Shocks Won't Install

I am doing the DIY on spring install right now and I got the front in with not too much problems but now I'm on the rear shocks and springs and I got the whole piece put together correctly but I the shocks are too long and even when I screw the whole top in as much as the tread would take me, I can't get the holes on the bottom part to line up. The DIY just says to reverse the steps, but fails to mention this part and seems like no one else had this prob as I just read all the pages. Do you guys who have done it always have the holes on the bottom to line up? How did you guys do it? I'm on Tein S-Techs and Tokico Blues. I was on stock springs before and they are longer then the Teins yet there were on there before and was easy to come off. HELP HELP HELP!!!

I had this problem when I installed my Bilsteins. I had to use a large impact socket on a jack to compress the shock enough to get it in place. insert something (a phillip screwdrier will do) to align the hole. The longer the screwdriver the more leverage you will have to force the holes to align. When aligned, insert the bolt. BE VERY CAREFUL when compressing the shock with the jack, any misalignment, the socket will snap and shoot out with great force. The larger the socket the more stable it will be. Either way, it's a bitch to get the holes to align. Good luck!

Thanks guys, I actually used EX4Dr's method before I just read his post. Was quite easy after that. But man, some info on that really needs to be put in the big DIY thread.

blackonblack, I'm not sure what the trailing arm you are referring to.

CenZ, I'm not sure 180+ is a good idea on standing on the drum.
