2 QUESTIONS , splicing radar , and a HU question
ok , i want to put my pioneer head unit in my civic, but i have heard that once you do this , you lose signal to your keyless entry unit ( what unlocks your door automatically) is this true? and also , i want to make my beltronics radar detector wireless meaning not being plugged into the cig lighter. i know i must cut the cord and splice the wire to some power in the car but where? can i use the dome light wires? thanks alot

I have heard it as well from our local installer when I first bought my Civic. I thought he said 01s.
For the wiring just tap into both the constant and/or switched leads when doing the head unit install and use that wire to power detector.
Don't use the dimmer leads (may cause trouble and worthless on the design of these dashes)

Not it wont mess with ur keyless entry. LOL
You can wire ur radar detector into the wires on the back of the cig lighter. That way it would essentially be the same as having it pluged in but the wires would not be visible.
