So What do you Recharge your AC with?

my Girlfriends dad says he can do with freon but i was sure they didnt use that anymore. i have seen kits on sale to recharge it but im not sure what to use. i tried searching this forum and couldnt find much. my 01 civic LX starting blowing warm air when the AC was on a while back. Thanks in advance.

The new cars use R-134a refrigerant. And also you need to add refrigerant oil. Also if you are blowing warm air you probably have a leak somewhere. Go check it out first before you waste money on charging the system just to have it leak out.

right on. the air kind of gradually warmed up over time so i dont know if that means its a leak. i guess i will have someone check it out.

my truck used to do the same, actually both my trucks did that over time. just keep refilling, if you do it yourself its not that expensive. i usually put a can or two a year
