How many quarts should i buy for just a drain and refill?

well i believe it drains 3 quarts so i would think that, that owuld how much you have to put in

a full empty auto tranny takes 9 quarts , thats what it took when I rebuilt mine but it depends on how long you let it drain or if you use a pump to change the fluid out

a DRAINED AND REFILL is between 3-4 quarts.


^i dont see how a 'full empty auto tranny' will need 9 quarts. if your referring to a flush, then yeah.

drain and refill, get 4 quarts in case you spill

I just drained my 2002lx auto. twice and took 2.5 quarts each time. I used a syphon pump.

check your owners manual. I think it says 2.9quarts.
