No, I'm pretty sure Honda doesn't care about performance cars in America. It's all luxury or fuel economy to them in North America. The 06 Si is the closest thing to the civic type R we've ever had, and we usually only get a few years of the Type R trims in America when overseas they get them for all or almost all of the gen's life cycle. I think they are finally starting to come around a little bit with the performance motors though, I hope they continue to improve a upon them and really tap into the tuner market that's here in North America.

Well before anyone tears up because they feel left out by honda, its not that they dont care about us......its the North Americans that won't pay the high cost unless it helps their social standing .......and having a tyoe R in their driveway dosn't do it for most.....
They can just look to the horrible sales of the NSX for that info.....people get way more wow factor out of a Ferrari than saying they own a nice Honda....no mater if Arton Senna drove one or not......
typical (not us import fans cause we rule) people on this side of the pond want to impress everyone when they spend all that cake on a car.........not just the smaller demographic that makes up our scene.
If we want to see cars like they have in japan, and the UK, the rest of the population would have to stop buying cars to impress their neighbors.

see, we're on a car forum, and a lot of us here look for certain things in a car that may not be for the general public. Now, Integra Type-R..... in other parts of the world, they didnt get leather seats, radio, A/C and other luxo stuff..... would most of the American public be satisfied paying 20K+ for something like that? NO!
