interesting - though I'm not really sure why anyone would want to do it.
I mean it looks cool on face value, but i have 2 problems with it.

1) seems** to limit the opening to get stuff in the trunk
2) because of the hinge setup, if it's not angled properly it's not going to close - and thats just asking to scratch/dent some paint!

does it limit the entry at all?
I wonder if there is somewhere we could put shocks of somesort, like you have on the back of an old civic hatchback, to limit it's movement so you wouldn't have the problem i listed in #2

I'm still curious about trunk entry space with this mod - are you limited?

... now i realized I wasn't thinking earlier when I asked... because they're on hinges, I could in theory just push up on the lip of the trunk to tilt the whole trunk-door upright as if it were stock - is this a correct assumption?

Also, for those who have this mod - how is the trunk weighted? I mean, it is heavy moreso on one side? I ask because my fear with this mod is that everytime I'm going to close the trunk i'm going to be forced to push/pull on it to get it to line up with the lock. Do you have to do this?...or is it heavy enough that by holding the handle by the licence plate as its lower is enough to pull it into the correct position?

I have done this one before

couple of things:
for those who wants to try this.

-try using the same bolt that is used for toilets the one that holds the toilet to the ground. because that screw has a very flat head.

-Once you remove your trunk lid, the arms that holds the trunk lid doesn't move in unisen the arms move individually. So I put 2 pipes to keep them moving together.

for those that are wondering, these are the problems I ran into.

-Number one I didn't like the fact that you will always need a bolt lock to keep the trunk straight like it was before.

-if you don't make your hole for your bolt to lock the trunk back in place perfectly, you will have some rattling problems (once you do it you'll understand what I mean)

-The trunk lid doesn't sit flat perfectly on the trunk. The back part of the trunk lid sticking out. Because the arms are spring loaded and trying to push your trunk lid upwards.

-no it doesn't shrink your trunk space. or any space for that matter, because the lid once it's up the first half of lid hovers over the rear window and the other half sits right at the edge of the top of the trunk.

-now the cool thing is as long as you didn't destroy or break the original bolts that held your trunk before, you con always go back to it's original configuration.

now if some one can somehow figure out using something else other than a bolt to lock the trunk lid back into place I would surely like to read about that!!!

Oh yeah another thing is this. Once you get your flip flop trunk done and you have it the way you like it.... close your trunk lid and clean your car and see if you get water in the trunk.....
