Finally coming together.... Updated on Page 9!! Car is Turbod!!
Alright. We got a little done on my car tonight. I got my fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump, and fuel line for my new fuel feed line.
I am now only waiting on a few small parts now to finish the car. Main thing is the new clutch so i can drop it in
But im going to finish up the turbo system on this motor, so i dont have to wait to drop the other motor in.
Anyway, here are some pictures....
All of the intercooler piping is 2.5" mandrel bend aluminum with beaded ends.

im going to polish the piping again, and have it re-black chromed.
I made the IC pipes out of 7 cold air intakes i bought. So i had to grind the chroming off it in order to weld it (TIG welders dont like to mix aluminum, chromium, and nickel). But i do plan on re-doing the chrome job. Either that or i will paint it flat black.
You have to remember, everything fits underneath the stock airbox. I wanted people to think it was stock, even with the hood popped. I am going to order my car bra after i get the car up and running with the new motor next week. So it will look waaaay stock. I just need the stock amber turn signal inserts, so i can put them back in. I think i threw mine away.

Oh ya i forgot that you were the one making everything seem stock. Well if thats the case then polish it up and perhaps paint it flat black like you said. Have you encountered any fitment problems with the stock airbox running over(around, i assume) your pipeing yet?

Not yet. I cut the bottom off the airbox, then hollowed it all out (has a series of small pipes inside of it). So it fits pretty well.
Heres another pic of the airbox and my turbo-heat shield installed. The heatshield is now flat black. I think i will have to add a little more to it, because with the IC pipes installed, you will be able to see part of the pipes. But hopefully i can make it dissappear.

^^^^ In this picture, i do have an SRI installed with a 4" inlet air filter on the end. And you cant see a damn thing!turboengnr is the man!!!

Im making it to where if the **** *** police in cali pop my hood, it looks stock. I dont need my car getting impounded. Especially since im still running a cat and the car is quiet as hell.
My turbo doesnt mount like a conventional one. It mounts under a cover where the battery used to be. The DC header has a carb eo number, so it will still look legal. I am even contemplating putting a heat shield over the header to make it even look stock.

I am going through physical therapy. Still cant move my arm much. They measured my right arm motion at 195* movement. And my left arm has 45* of motion.
Thats why i love my wife. I mark where i want stuff cut, she cuts it, i weld it together. Thats why my welds look all shaky and not straight. Its cuz i cant move my shoulder to get the right rod angle.

She even knows how to weld.
Not TIG weld, but she has done some MIG welding.

Glad to hear you are doing better than before though. Are you still in a lot of pain or is it getting better with time?

I have a very very well stocked supply of Norco. It is the only drug we have found that works on me.
I also have a well stocked supply of morphine, vicodin, oxycodone, ultracet, tylenol w/codeine, and others. But they do absolutely nothing to me. So they just sit in a box collecting dust.

i never had that much money.
I didnt have very good hookups on motor parts. I just pretty much told the companies who i was, and since they all were semi-local, they heard of some of my previous work and gave me a bit of a discount. The turbo system on the other hand was cheap as hell.
I spent probably $3000 on the motor, and less than $1000 on the turbo system. Hell, the damn clutch was more expensive than most of my turbo system.
I have done a lot of cool cars. Like i did this one in my garage right before i got hurt. I built the manifold, downpipe, dump tube, heat shields, support brackets, intercooler pipes, etc. Pretty much everything that is not stock in that picture.
