Question for those who has turbo installed

I just got my turbo done on my 04 civic ex. I have a check engine light for primary o2 sensor not reading. I think it is code 0143. I have the primary o2 sensor mounted near the top of the down pipe. Is it in a bad location and not reading right or something else is wrong? It was working fine before turbo. let me know u guys

Well aside from the obvious question of is it plugged in, did you drop it when you took it out or do anything that could have otherwise potentially damaged the sensor?
If its too close to the turbo, it may be too hot and it may not like it, or its too hot and burned out the sensor.

no physical damage, never dropped it, stored in a box during install. check engine light came on before driving it out of garage to test boost.

It might be too close and getting very hot. I have mine right in front of the oil pan, just before the downpipe goes below the oil pan. Good luck

its a xspower turbo from ssautochrome (ebay stuff). it is a custom turbo kit that i had assembled together. i would say my o2 sensor is nearly in front of my oil pan too. i think maybe the wire went bad or something from taking it off with the socket. so what type of fuel management are you using Pedro?

sorry i am not on this forum much. would u like to tell me what o2 sim is or what it means?

I have a 04 civic ex (D17a2 engine).
xs power T3 turbo
xs power external wastegate
xs power bov
obx turbo manifold (chopped up like crazy cause it doesnt fit right)
emanage (injector harness & ignition harness)
rsx fuel injectors
7"x20" intercooler
custom 2.25" turbo piping
apexi auto timer
i think total in parts is $1900 without exhaust system.

i think it is running 8psi right now, but i havent floored it cause i havent finished tunning.

where are you from? Your setup sounds like a local guy i helped out at a buddies store. You probably arent, but i thought i would ask.

Anyway, check the wires on the O2 sensor. I know i have had mine off soo many times that i actually stripped the insulation off several of the wires, and they were shorting out. Once i fixed that, all the CEL's went away.

I'm not running a fuel system, I don't need one lol. I don't drive my car anymore and I'm in the process of building my engine and I'm getting the AEM EMS when all of the engine work is done.

tfnaaf, it says you have posted 2397 post. i dont see your signature cause my browser is blocking activeX controls.

I am from seattle, wa. my buddy and i worked on the car. thanks turboengnr, i will check the wires cause at one time i tried to tapped into it for the air/fuel ratio but it didnt work on primary o2. i am also thinking it might be because the car is running really rich at low rpms. air/fuel ratio keeps reading at 10.0 on idle. we left the fuel on stock for low rpms but i guess the emanage is doing something to it.

that looks very interesting. so does it decrease emissions or something? also i notice you were saying to put it on my second o2 sensor. it is my primary o2 sensor that is giving a cel. would it help on my primary?

it looks like my o2 sensor is reading out of range. i leaned out the fuel for the lower rpms and the check engine light doesnt seem to come on until i rev a lil higher like 3k rpms. did anybody else have issues with their o2 sensor and turbo?
