Seporating Streetglow wires

i got the Street glow 2 neon 9" tubes. It comes with a Transformer ( i think thats what its called ) that u plug both tubes into, that then plugs into the cigerette lighter. on the package, they show u which wires coming off of the transformer are + and -, but i am wondering if it is possible to wire just 1 of the tubes, without the transformer, and which wire on it would be + and which - ? one is black and one is white. Thx.

hmm..., since when you have a red and a black wire comin from speakers, the red is positive and the black is the ground, or negative.....so i would think the white would be positive and the black is again negative or ground. I'm not completely sure, but it is a logical guess.
