how do you reset

when u put in the cai how do u reset the ecu or what ever
cuz i was told you must do something along those lines

Well, before you install the CAI, you should have undone the wires that go into your fusebox. After you have everything installed, start your car and let it run for like 10-15 minutes. DO NOT touch your gas pedal. Your ecu is recalculating air/fuel mixtures for the new data it is collecting from the sensors. After the 10-15 minutes, turn your car off. All done. Remember that if you have your stock CD player, then you will have to enter the code that came on the security card. If you can't find the card, the same sticker with the code is on the inside of the lid to your fuse box which is under your hood.

must you do this everytime you install any kind of Cold Air Intake? Is this something new cause I never did that when I installed it on my '90 Accord.[IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-mad.gif[/IMG]

nope, I just lost a bit of mileage for about 100miles then it picked back up and felt stronger, especially past 3.5k

my check engine light came on when i switched intake.
the dealer turned off the light, no big deal

When I installed my CAI, I didn't reset anything. My car is fine.
