AEM Problem
AEM Problem
Ok heres the deal, my car has been in the shop now going on 5 weeks because I'm doing some slight upgrades. I'm running a TSI 28BB Turbo Kit, and I had custom intercooler pipeing done, d16Y8 mainfold conversion, a Aeromotive fuel pressure regulator, with a custom return fuel line system, a AEM fuel rail with RC Engineered 550cc Injectors and YES.........AEM EMS. So when my shop here did all the work and putting everything in they trailered my car to Kansas to get tuned. When they finally get it tuned, (time elasped due to bad wiring and a bad map sensor on the Intake Mainfold) on the third pull they said my car died. They said they tried to start it back up and nothing happened. They put the stock ECU back in and my car started again..........so I have a bad EMS. Whats AEM's policy if anyone knows in this matter? I want them to just same day ship one and call it a day, but my shop back at home said that AEM might want to do a run dyno test on it. That WILL delay my time even longer...........%^$#. I've realized that any customization you do both cost more then you budgeted for and takes longer, a lot LONGER then you scheduled for.
DONT PANIC

it always takes longer than normal.
i have to have my new motor assembled, balanced, and installed in the car, with the new turbo system built, and the car tuned to 25 psi before April 8th.
Seems long enough, right? Since the whole motor is in the shop being assembled as we speak, it seems feasable.
but do you see that pic in my sig? That was taken last tuesday, and it is the inside of my shoulder. And i still have a turbo system to build.

So, out of TSI kit you have left with just intercooler, mani & t28....
Sorry to her you pain, AEM EMS looks very comlicated to me, so I dont want to touch it.
I'm sure when it all gets sorted out, you'll be happy.
Sorry I cant tell you anything about you problem.
Good luck!

Andy had a problem with a corupt calmap file. He sent me his file and my car died as well. I loaded my map back in and it was fine. If you have a backup file (you should always), try loading it in. If the connection is crappy or something gets messed with while it loads it may cause a calmap to get messed up. Apparently talking to some people after Andy's situation, its not that uncommon. More than likely its not the EMS unless your tuner/you changed wiring and zapped something out.
