HELP: slid into a curb, LCA bent? *pics*
HELP: slid into a curb, LCA bent? *pics*
well tonight texas got ice/snow for the first time in like 5 years.. i was exiting a wal mart parking lot going like 15mph and hit solid ice an slid into a curb.. i drove off and the alignment was off and the car rattled pretty badly above 20-30 mph. it looks like the wheel might have a little positive camber, if it does.. does that mean i bent a lower control arm for sure? i hope some wheel weights just fell off and i only need a balance and alignment. i curbed my wheel pretty bad and cracked my front bumper. tomorrow im gonna go get it checked by a mechanic but i keep thinking about it, what do yall think?

i did it last winter when i first got my vic... went over a speed bump going like 5 mph and when it came down i started to drift toward the left and hit the curb on the side of my car... no body dmg but bent 2 of my SI alloy rims... and turns out the axle was bent and control arm was snapped like a twig.

That sucks!! Man when it started icing or snowing or whatever that was I went home... and kept my happy a$s there.... Not suppose to snow in Texas. And its not suppose to be this cold here either...
Hopfully you can find replacements cheaper some where else. Good Luck... hope to see you Sunday if you going.

in the last 2 weeks at work we've repaired 2 em2's from curb damage. both needed lower control arms, one needed strut, knuckle and hub also. The one with more parts with labor still only cost the customer like $400-500 with NEW honda parts!
how do i know if i need a new strut/hub? is it normal for my car to be rattling REALLY bad when i make left turns? i know the LCA is bent but could that mean i need a new strut or hub?

the strut can be checked on an alignment machine , losen the top bolt and rotate the shaft, if camber changes at all replace the strut. Joined: Oct 2003

yea I was out in that mess driving too with my new rex.. but I had no issues and was fortunate. Hope it works out for ya man
It happened to me 2 weeks ago, I will write a DIY for you, lucky you I totaled my rim. I have lots of pics, and the absolut worse happened to my car so after you see my pics, yours will be easier, just wait untill I get back home Friday. I took the pics to write a DIY but got discouraged after all the mess it was to do. Some girl pulled out on a main road and almost hit me, I swirved and nailed a curb, she just drove off. I know the feeling man. Get back at me.
O by the way this has happened twice to me in two dif. 01 civics, it usually cost around 800$ to get it fixed, but if you do it yourself you should only spend under 200$ for parts.

bearing has to be pressed into hub just get someone to take you to the shop (bearing and hub in tow) and have them press it in for you...should cost like 50 bux labor...
Dude The Same Thing Happened To Me But Only For Me It Was In The Rain. My Lower Control Arm Bent And Cracked And I Had To Pud A Camber Kit In The Rear. If It Is The Lower Control Arm In Your Case Then Dont Have A Mechanic Replace It Just Go To A Junk Yard And Get One There The Only Thing You Should Have To Do Is Replace The Ball Joints But Replacing The Lower Control Arm Will Definatley Take Care Of Your Camber Problem Just Get An Alignment And Re-balance Your Wheels And You Should Be Good And As For The Bumper And Wheel Damage I Cant Help You There.
