turning the intake on a garrett t3???

wondering if anyone can tell me how to turn the intake on a garrett t3

If you mean clocking the turbo, just loosen the 6 bolts on the back of the compressor housing (compressor housing is the intake side), rotate the housing to wherever you need it, then retighten the bolts.

i've tried that the turbo never spun......do i have to pound on it fairly hard??

tap on the edge of the housing (outward) with a rubber hammer.

If you have a deadblow hammer, you can hit the turbo compressor housing LIGHTLY to try and knock it loose. Sometimes they get stuck, especially if it is used.

Your best and safest bet though, is to remove all 6 bolts and the little brackets, put the turbo compressor side down on a table (so that no fins are touching the table), have a friend hold down the compressor housing and you pull the turbo free. Be very careful to lift straight up so that you don't damage the fins. Once you get them apart, just align the housing and turbo assembly the way you need it, and reattach the brackets with the 6 bolts.
