Want to put a tach in my 05 auto DX?

Ok so I just got my car like 2 months ago (05 dx coupe auto) and i love it, but I really want a tach so I know where my car is shifting. I dont want a big 5in tach with a shift light because I dont want to look like an idiot. I really wouldnt want to go bigger than 3in, maybe even a single on the A-pillar. I am really trying to stay away from the typical riced out honda that gives everone a bad rep. My question is, has anybody done this, and do you think its really worth the time/money?

Ya get a small one, I can't belive they still don't put tach on some civics, even my dad's 98 minivan comes with a tach!

i've got a 05 manual w/out a tach, really doesn't bother me though, really, how many people that drive standards watch the tach to know when to shift?
just do what 04trinicivic said and get a cluster

if your trying to stay away from the whole rice thing then why put a tach in your auto? thats rice right there, there's no need for one it wont help you shift or anything. just a waste of money.

i know what you mean,...i have an auto VP civic with no tach.....it really bugs the crap out of me,..it just seems,...in-complete without a tach.....im going to do a LX cluster swap eventually...

the 05 LX has a tach too whats that mean? the DX/VP dont, DXs havent had tachs since forever... i dont know how they still do it though...

good luck with the Lx swap. i wanted to do the same thing in my civic, then after looking at the diffent plugs and the pin outs and the wiring harness's, i decided it was not worth it. you basically have to change the whole car's wiring and ecu in order for it to work.
