Turbo installed, but doesn't seem like much more power?

ok... i'll run ya through my setup first

T3 60 trim .42.48 garrett turbo
tial 38mm wastegate with 5 bar spring
custom manifold
24x12x3 intercooler
hallman boost controller
emanage w/ all harness'
type s injectors
boost/a/f gauge
2'' turbo back exhaust (upgrading to 2.5'', but i dont expect the 2'' would effect the power too much)

my B.O.V is made for higher boost/power applications so theres not enough pressure to make it actually pshhhhhhhhhh it just makes a weird sound like the air's just flowing out.. i dunno its hard to explain, but its all the way shut and its still too big...

im running 8 psi but at 6k rpm it jumps to 9 psi then i lean out... so im not revving it past 6k until i get a fuel pressure regulator...

even at 8psi though i dont notice that much of a difference.. sure there's some of a difference, but not what i was expecting

anyways, im gonna get a new bov, fuel pressure regulator and 2.5'' exhaust...

can you guys think of any more reasons why i wouldn't be noticing that much of a difference? i didnt get it dyno tuned yet cuz the guy that did my tuning said it wont make too much of a difference, plus i didnt wanna do it before i did the exhaust...

any help or advice you guys could give would be very much appreciated

Dyno tuning saves your motor, and is probably the most important thing you could do, before getting exhaust or fuel pressure regulator.
How did he do your tunning???
Do you have a wideband???

well... i've been drivin my dads TT stealth with some mods around for awhile so maybe thats why i think its slow....

im runnin my stock wheels and tires, tires have bout 40-50% tread left and they spin at bout 5200 rpm in 1st so maybe its actually making decent power just not as good as the stealth?

its a hks replica bov

its not a boost leak i checked all the pipes..

would dyno tuning it actually make that much of a difference on a low boost application such as mine?

cant tell you what the problem is, but if your bov isnt blowing off, all that compressed air is going back to the turbo=compressor surge...so how bout taking out some of the washers or turning down the spring on it

do tune it bettar

Vantage should not be trusted
umm... 5 bar... i think u mean .5 bar...

also, yes 2.0" will ROB a lot of power, 2.5" will be better, if ur running high boost maybe 9-10 psi then go 3".

\Would'nt be wise of him to get dyno tune anyway and not wait for new exhaust, even though it is robing him of power?

Get exhaust then dyno tune. changing from a 2" - 3" will make a world of difference, and tuning will be a lot different. Get the exhaust done, then tune, or ull have to re-tune.

FInd out what that check engine light is before you blow your head gasket =) j/k either its a cylinder misfire like alot of us have experienced or your getting a map sensor out of range because your not tuned with the voltage clamp so the car is seeing boost. Go buy a code scanner, your going to need it.

my bov did the same thing, its probably staying oppen letting out the pressure and your heating your car up bad that way, i also had a leak actualy in the line not at a connection, thows combined created what you discribed for me at least.

plus on top of that the car was seeing boost. i got thows cleared up problem went away. look into all 3
