Rear upper strut bar... Does it fit in the trunk well?
I'll try to explain the best I can. I was planning to get a front one and i guess a rear one would be nice too, but was wondering how well it fits in the trunk. I have no idea how the trunk would look with it in there. I want to keep the cardboard cover and carpet cover in there, and I also have my sub box up against the back seats. I was wondering if all that stuff would get in the way of the strut bar, or maybe if I would have to loose the stuff. Not sure if the bar sticks up or bends down or what.

Dude i am from Baltimore too, Where are u from in Balto?? Well i think it depends on how high your sub boxes are. You will have to cut out a piece of carpet to bolt the bar to the car. bars usually bend slightly upwards but sometimes they go straight accross. Here is a pic of a few but not for our car.

This is one from a prelude so it should be similar to the civic.
Good luck. Email me or something. The Motor Trend International Car show is Feb 6-10 at the Baltimore convention Center.

Thanks robbclark1. Now that I got an idea of how it will look I don't think i'll be getting a rear bar. Thanks for the pick. I'm in the arbutus/elkridge area

I did look in the parts section. It says the Neuspeed is available but there is nothing on their site saying it is. They show the lower in production and nothing on the upper.

I think Bartkat has the AC rear strut tower bar. He says that it doesn't go though the carpet like the ones in the pictures above. It goes under the carpet because it attaches to the lower portion of the shock tower.
Only rear strut bars out for 2001-02 Civics is from WeaponR. (they suck).
I would wait for the one from DC Sports, or Nuespeed, or Skunk2, or whoever. Just get yourself a lower rear tie bar for now. I've been waiting for DC to realease a rear upper strut bar ever since i got my Civic last August. I just saw their new 2002 catalog today, and it don't have one listed. They do finally have their DAC(DC short air intake) listed though, but nobody has gotten any in yet for resale.
The rear strut would mount in our cars, about 3 inches behind the back seat, and about 5 inches off the (stock)carpet.

The AC rear upper bar is out. Autodynamic has it. Makes a big difference along with the front bar.
If you lay the carpet over it, you don't even know it is there, visually. However if your speakers are up against the rear seat, you may need to raise them about 3 inches.

I just looked today to see where it connects because I am getting one very soon. The rear strut bar connects way back in the trunk area just about dwon the carpet very close to the seats. All you will really have to do with your speakers is move them forward a few inches. It isn't that big of a deal. The hard part will be getting all the way down there to connect it.
