Acceleration is DEAD!!

I got a 03 ex coupe with a 5 speed. For the last month or so the acceleration has been horrible. And there isnt any vtec anymore. It doesn't kick in at all. I was wondering if anyone knows what the problem might be or if anyones experienceds this? Id rather here from someone on here rather than take it to the shop. lemme know something. thanks

how many miles on the motor oil? if your past 5000... change it immediately

is the clutch worn? if its slipping, that could be an problem as well.

could even be the motor itself...theres so many possiblities, gonna need to provide more detailed info

true on never having the vtec, but the acceleration is noticably worse now that i don't have it anymore. the clutch isnt too warn, 33k miles, oil changed frequently, air filter changed, plugs are good, car never overheats, oh... not to mention, i was in an accident, the entire right front end of the car was smashed in (including intake, headlight, suspension, all that good stuff up there was pushed back about 2-5 inches). Those houses just come outta no where! Everything was "fixed" until i put about another 5k miles on it and now it runs like crap. also, the engine its self makes a fast, light sputtering sound. i cant visually see any damage done to the motor so i have no idea where the problem might be. if this info doesnt help will honda charge to diagnose the problem or is it warranty? also since i was in an accident does that void my warranty, all the repair work was done by a certified body shop? thanks again.

Man I think it's something to do with the weather like the air your car sucks in, becuase on some days it'll be fine on others it'll be shity and in the winter it runs the best cuz of cold air.

Try disconeting the vtec syloniod see if you feel any difference in the way the engine runs. Could just be that its gone bad, or thats ran off oil pressure and its not getting fed enough, may have some sludge or something built up in the oil pan.

it don't matter if you got hit, its still under warranty. and how do you know vtec didn't kick in? how old are your plugs? your oil? your air filter? and btw it could be a vacuum leak or something along those lines. go to the dealership, it should be fine.

your car is still really new with 33k miles but when you get up there. Add seafoam to the engine and gas tank...
That will clean out the carbon deposites
