ok. here is the deal. i got a a sound system and an alarm installed about a month ago. now all of a sudden today, my batt light is on. i narrowed it down to my alt cause it goes off once i get to 4krpms. now here is the thing, is it warrentied? i got the 100k mile warrenty. so its not that i dont have one, its just that i dont know if my system is going to void it

ok then i will call in the am. you think its the alt? the goes out if i pass 4k rpms and then it comes back on if it drops below 2k...

i believe it would not be warranty because you modified the electrical system

Yep they'll give a bunch a crap saying" well sorry you have modified your cars original electrical system" best bet is to remove everthing making sure there is no trace of the install to the best of your ability. If not you'd better off getting rewired for higher output, becuase oem alt's are like 275.00 or more!

hey brought it to honda, there is a TSB out for my alt, so if any other 2002 Civic has a bad alt, see if it works for you too... so im getting the alt fixed under warrenty.

damn there is a TSB out for everything. Oh well, my car has never had problems and it is almost at 100k. But it will be going to the dealer right at 100k for all warranty work.
