Im looking at the product info for these TEIN full coilovers and it apears that only the flex set-up allows you to adjust ride height w/o compressing the springs, right?
How do these set-ups hold their height with only 1 locking perch? Do they ever move on you?
My Hayame's allow me to adjust ride height w/o compressing the springs, I thought TEINS had this feature as well?

SS and SS-P have the same spring rates (6k/8k), except that the SS-P has a pillowball upper mount. A pillow ball is basically a metal ball with the mount attached to it. The stock mount uses a rubber grommet so you can imagine that the pillowball is a lot stiffer than the stock mount. However, they make a LOT of noise when hit hard.
Tein flex has stiffer spring rates (12k/14k) and better valving. They have three locking perches so you can adjust the height without changing the spring length.
If you want better coils, stick with the SS. If you want more adjustability, then get the SS-P. I wouldn't suggest the flex unless you plan on autoxing/road racing.

After my bad experience with my Hayame's im pretty nervous and cautious about forking out more money for a different set-up. Im still not sure what I should get though. What's peoples opinions about Tein SS vs B&G S3's? Has anyone ridin in cars with each set-up to compare?? Or is that like asking "which exhaust is best"......

I have been in a car with the SS and it was comfy. If you want a set it and forget it suspension then get some konis with some good springs.
And yes you are basically asking "what suspension is best" and we can't give you that answer. Good tuning is a black art that takes many hours, much frustrating and much money. Just because I have dropped X amount of money on my suspension doesn't mean that nothing will go wrong.
hey i have B&Gs onn my car and i half to say i love them i dont know how low you what to go but lower that any other full coilover out there, the ride is so smooth its like ridein on air and it handles good to.
B&G is all so comeing out with a new coilover called the rs2 is 32way adjustable and the ps2

from what ive read, im leaning more to the flex's, but i have a miata, so it could be different. my last setup was stock shocks w/ neuspeed springs, and i really didnt like the feel of a lowered car w/ reduced shock travel/compression distance. naturally this would not happen as much if i had konis or other aftermarket shocks, but i think i would still prefer to keep my height adjustment separate from my shock compression adjustment. once i get them im not planning on changing them unless something breaks...so if i decide to start racing and doing auto x (which i havent gotten around to doing so far) i might need a fully adjustable setup for that and street driving. just my $.02

. Tein is a great choice as well. Have installed them on customer cars and both serve great at what they do!

They allow you to adjust height without adjust travel, because of their helper spring. The new ones even have an adapter so they fit 01-03 and 04-05. I think U can get them for about 900 shipped. They are easy to install and the ksportsupport is very helpful. That his aim by the way, I can't hurt to drop him a line and talk to him. I love my ksports and so far the have handled very very well...I'd tell u more into detail but I'm busy right now...soo I'll post more info if you want

Helper springs don't do anything when the car is on the ground. Their sole purpose is to keep the spring seated if the corner lifts. They contribute nothing to the ride, infact if you look up there with the car on the ground, they're probably damn near fully compressed.

This is like the 2nd or 3rd I've come around and you told me k sports are crappy *** coilovers, and that they are rebranded taiwan coilovers.

i have flex and i love it.. but if u dont understand why they do what they do youll never be able to adjust them and set them properly
its a triple perch setup compared to double
