confused: tein flex
Ok, i've been browsing around the forums and i'm confused about the tein type flex system for our cars. I did a search and read thru alot of em and some1 had a instruction manual posted for the installation of the type flex system for the 01+ civics. Other members have e-mailed tein and tein says they don't have the flex system for our cars. What is going on?
Anyway, i jsut wanted to get this cleared up. Do they have the tein flex for our cars? are they making an EDFC system that will accomodate our cars? is it worth waiting for? or should I just get the TEIN SS and wait for an EDFC that'll fit that system?
Thanks

They do not make a Flex for our cars. However, straight from the Sales rep, the SI's hatch back's Flex system will fit our cars. (with Slight modification to the hood, as in Drill 2 holes.)

Yep they don't make Flex for the new civics and probably never will. You can get the ones for the Si or the RSX to fit, with modification like zzyzx said. I don't know if they will make a EDFC that will fit the tein SS.

EDFC: blah!
we can probably MacGuyver our own. I plan on making one so I don't have to get out and adjust them.
not a huge deal...just get 4 small motors, wire them to a switch, and make sure that you have a counter in the circuit to tell what position the damper setting is at. then just hook the counter into a small display screen, and voila: a home grown EDFC!
wait, that actually sounds a bit complicated, but rest assured...it'll be easy!

takes about 5mins to adjust all the way around lol......not worth $350 or 10hours of work + cost.

There are shocks which automatically adjust the damping based on the force applied to them and its duration. Our stock shocks are like this. I wish all aftermarket shocks were like this, but I only see them for certain domestic cars. Bleh. Why can't we get the good stuff?

hehehe
man, the EDFC is $350?!?!?!
that's stupid!
You could honestly build one out of random parts for about $40.
And this is $40 CDN funds
"Princess Auto" has the parts I need...four basic motors that turn in increments...wire, and a box.
for the display, I have an old microwave display (good thing I'm a pack rat), and for the buttons, I could use pretty much anything.
it'll be cheap, sure, and as for the time to do it? who cares! it's a fun weekend project!
hehehe
getting out of your car sucks...and it's especially hard to adjust the rear dampers (I can't fit my fat hands into the hole in my sedan), so a pseudo EDFC is the way to go! hehe
when I do it, I'll try to make a DIY, in honour of the DIY god Grey
