Cutch Noises?? Engine Rattle??
Cutch Noises?? Engine Rattle??
Hey guys,
Was wondering..my clutch sometimes makes a crapload of noise when I step on it or release it. Do you guys have lots of noise too? I don't remember having soo much noise until within the last week or soo.
Also I have the injen cai. When I start it up on cold start it rattles, but when the engine is warm it doesn't rattle. Is it the engine? or the intake?
Thanks!!

That would be the throw out bearing, or the clutch release bearing. That is if it only makes the noise when you push the clutch peddle and then stops or quites down when you let off!

You have to be more specific.
Its doubtful your clutch is making a noise itself. If you hear a squeak when you depress the clutch, its your pedal. Thats solved by spraying lithium grease where the clutch pedal passes through the firewall under the dash. Look under the dash and youll see it.
Your cai rattles in the cold due to the higher rpms then settles down when your car gets to normal temp and idle rpm. check your mounts on the cai and make sure your cai isnt hitting your hood.
this is all typical maintence stuff. hope it helps.

The clutch is when I push it in or let it out it makes a slapping sound. Its not squeeking...as for the CAI, I really have no idea what its rattling on. I can live with the CAI but the clutch is a new one and it buggs me.

also check your transmission mount. the motor mount connected to the tranny. its on the passenger side, right under the fuse box sort of. Mine us busted, and when I shift gears, you can hear that is not going in straight. My tranny is moved a little bit, too from where it should be. Im putting a new mount, clutch master and slave cylinder, and clutch in this weekend.
See if your mount is ripped, mine was torn in about 15 spots, and sticking out about a half inch, lol. I damaged it nicely. hehe
Check that out.
Peace
