Exhaust Install

What is the right way to install a 3 piece exhaust? I mean where the mid pipe is connected there are holes and I am guessing the exhaust gases are not suppose to leak out but I tried to insert one piece into another as far as possible but it still seems to leak. Any suggestions. I have a HP Racing Jspec Catback Exhaust.

You probably need exhaust gaskets inbetween each connection. You can buy them at any auto parts store.

What gasket are you talking about? this is one of those mid pipes that connect with a clamp and not bolts. so i guess unless i am missing something I don't know which gasket you are talking about.

If its a clamp connection then put one inside the other and clamp it. However I highly recommend you take that to a muffler shop once the exhaust is intalled and have them weld the clamped joint shut.

my bad... I was under the impression that you had flanges.
Anyways, Boiler hit the nail on the head... go get it welded together that way you get no leaks.
