Anyone ever use LEDs for their turn/brake lights?
I've been wanting to get them! I think LEDs look crisper and cleaner how they cut in and out faster. Here's a pair on ebay of something similar to what I'm talking about - anyone have them? Any comments?

I had replaced some bulbs with LED's on my YAMAHA YZF600, they were hell'a bright.
Loved them.
They have a longer life than bulbs, brighter, and require less power... I couldn't complain about them.
Don't know how the electrical system of the honda will accept them, as long as the person or company that built them are doing a good job matching the power requirements of bulbs with the LED clusters.
Let me know how well they work once you install.

i have them on mine.
only the front turn signals are regular bulbs. i like them they are brighter. they will blink faster though unless you buy (forgot what it was called, maybe resister) and it will keep the speed of the blink to stock

i say don't do it. LEDs, at the most, can only have a spread of 170 degrees, maybe less. conventional bulbs have more of a 300 degree spread, and have a filament that is the size of a 5mm LED. if you really want LED turn signals/brake lights, then do it the right way and retrofit.

For brake lights LED replacement bulbs, they are not safe as mentioned.
If you install them for turn signals they will blink fast because they do not draw as much current as standard bulbs, you have to add a load resistor to make it draw more current to slow the flashing.
LEDs are a awesome though.

i have them for turn signals in the back, they are a little dimmer at certain angles than incondasent (sp) bulbs because of the viewing angle. Its still noticiable and blinks faster, no complaints. maybe i should get the 24 led ones.

Unless the LEDs are mounted in a circular array, they are not going to give anywhere near a good enough brightness to use them safely.
Yes, it's an Acura EL

I nearly got rear-ended on the highway during a cruise because the guy behind me didn't see the LED brake lights I had installed (almost all purchased at superbrightleds.com, which are all generic btw). I've since removed all the exterior bulbs on the car except for the ones in my sidemarkers. Trust me they're not safe for use as signal or brake lights. The light from LED bulbs is purer than from incandescent bulbs, which is why they look nice at night, but they are nowhere near as bright as incandescent. If you watch a flashing amber LED signal during the daytime I guarantee you'll have to look twice to see it. And you don't want drivers to have to take a second look at your car just to see if it's safe to switch lanes.

waste of money.. and actually produce less light than halogen bulbs.
If you want to have led tail lights and brakes, my suggestion is to buy some LED bars and retrofit them into your tail light. I was pondering the idea and bought some leds to test but in the end, its really complicated and i said **** it
anyways, dont buy the cheap imitations off of ebay... Its really not worth it.
The last option is to contact, http://illusion-lighting.com/ and have them do it for you.. but, Its like $900

thanks for all the replies everybody. I decided not to get them after reading into it a little more. The idea sounds awesome though, but I'm too lazy to get into retrofitting. If it's not "plug and play" and can easily mess something up big time, i'm not for it, heh. Thanks for all the advice guys!
