Hi,

I remember that my 97 Accord need to be filled with A/C fuel from time to time in order for the A/C to output cold air.

So far I have not seen A/C fuel DIY for our 01-05 Civic. Does any one know how does the whole thing work?

i have never heard of such a thing, other than on aircrafts. then again, i don't use my a/c at all. i really should just pull it out. it's extra weight i don't need.

he's talking about the 134a refrigerant.you had to fill from time to time because you had a leak.now if yours doesnt dont mess with it.

isn't it something we have to fill up from time to time? in here I mean perhaps every 4 years?

if you are low on refirgerant, then you have a leak in the AC system. That is the only way to lose refrigerant. No, you dont have to fill it up from time to time unless you want to have warm air blowing out. refrigerant doesnt go bad, but it does collect moisture over time. That is why it is recommended to have the ac system serviced once a yr. It involves recovering, recycling, and putting the refirgerant back in the system. Also placing the system under a vacuum to remove any moisture. Should also replace the reciever-drier about every 2 yrs or so.

You can buy the r134a kits at a lot of places, it comes with a gauge you connect to the lowpressure side of the system, and comes with a can of r134a to fill if yours is low...this is like the kit i use http://www.midwayautosupply.com/deta...ption.asp?4330 you can get

but it is not neccessary to fill it like a tank, it is a closed system so the r134a is "recyled" or "recovered" and used again.
