I recently purchased a new 2005 Civic coupe EX.

I'd like to install a CAI, but I'm worried about the two things in the subject.

Has anybody installed one of these and gotten a check engine light when they started the car. If so, is this a real problem. If it's not a real problem...can you make the engine light come off.

Also, I'm worried about my warranty. It's brand new, and I've only had it for 3 weeks. I would be really upset if when I put on the intake my 36k mile warranty is no good.

Also, I live in GA and must pass emissions inspection. Do you know if it will make me fail one if I install the CAI.

If you have first hand experience PLEASE help me out here. But I'll take whatever advice I can get

CAI has nothing to do with CEL.
Dealer can't just void warranty , unless they can prove aftermarket parts have caused the problem.

Get legal intakes, such as AEM or Injen.
You shouldn't have any problem with emission.

if your check engine light comes on, just reset your ecu

And make sure you have the air intake sensor hooked up. BTW, anyone with questions regarding whether or not a part will cause warranty problems, do a Google for "Magnuson Moss Act"
