help with koni yellows.(I searched already!)
so im trying to install a set of koni yellows on my car. i tried the rear first. for some reason, the actual shock does not fit into and go through the top mount. It doesnt pass the metal collar inside the rubber bushing in the underneath of the top mount. I did some research and from what Boilermaker is stating, is that konis work with every year of our cars, especially the rears(with no problem) Is there anything else i need to look for? Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

You mean the top of the shock piston(where the threads and adjustment screw are) is to big that it wont go through the metal collar thats surrounded by the rubber bushing in the mount? It should... weird. There should be more then enough thread sticking out that you can get the bolt and washer on it without any problems. Maybe get the part numbers off the Konis and verify that theyre correct ones? Dunno..

Take the konis to a honda dealership and find a verson of Part #2 that does fit. Its a spacer and it's probably not a good idea to not use one. You may have the kit that is designed for an erlier civic or possibly the RSX or Si.

I looked at my Koni instructions(they suck btw) and that piece your referring to comes from Koni. It comes in the hardware bag. The stock one wont fit. Here a couple of pics I took with my camera of the instructions.. sorry no scanner lol.

Now gimme all your points! lol j/k

Yea, I had the same problem. I just got creative (got the stuff used) and found a bigger sleve from a different set of shocks (off-road) I had laying around and found washers with a bigger ID, and then just shoved the sleve through the stock bushings. For the shock to work you NEED to have the stuff going in this order (bottom to top): shock shaft, washer, bushing, sleeve, car body, bushing, washer, nut.
