I bought a nippon thermostat for my civic which replaced the Denso one... I'm not sure if it's any cooler than the stock one, but it worked out well, and it seemed to be built well. It's a cheap parts, like 22 bucks or so, so it's worth a shot.

i remember reading something about some JDM company that makes a fan/temp switch for a honda . But not sure if it would work on ours. Im not familar with what turns our fan on. Is it the temp sensor or the computer that trips it?

That sounds like you replaced one genuine honda thermostat with another. Why would it be worth a shot without knowing if theres any difference between the two? If they're the same thats just wasting 22 bucks.
^^^Stock honda parts are way better than a lot of people realize... At the very least, I advise highly not to run your engine with a modified oem thermostat and not to run your engine without thermostat at all. This might be a no brainer from some, but there are actually quite a few people out there who believe that doing one of those two things helps keep your engine run cooler which is wrong. I've actually read that it DOES help on atleast one website that I've read and thats completely obsurd.

60k miles on it it will be a good try any way.
Spoon makes this parts for $ 90.00 a piece.
I was wondering if Dezod, Street Level may be Robear had an alternative?

A colder thermostat will be very usefull specialy on the south when is very hot.
I don't doub the honda parts quality they are great when the car is stock.
But when running turbo is good when the termostat open early.
I belive the stock opens at 200 degree.
I could be wrong. any one?

The fan switch problem can be solved just by addind a fan on fron of the A/C condenser and run it from a thermoswich so the fan will activate sooner than stock.
The trick is to get the thermostat that open sooner than stock so the car will stay cool while boosting eg: is stock opens at 200 degree the water is allready hot whenit reaches the radiator and will take more time to cool.
The motor performace will decrease and eventualy will get damage.
If the thermosat opens at 150 degree the water will reach the radiator before it gets too hot and will keep the car running a bit cooler, and with the help of a fan and a good radiator you'll be able to boost longer without reaching a boiling point.
