learn how to shift, please!
so i was driving home from work and a middle-aged yuppie looking guy pulls up to me at a traffic light in a light blue S2000. i knew my car couldn't keep up with him, but i like to drive quick anyway. so when the light turns green i take off at my normal brisk pace to see if he's going to go fast, maybe i could encourage him to drive fast, because i like to watch... so he starts gunning it, but i'm pulling away inbetween his shifts. by the time we got up to 55 mph, i was ahead of him but a couple car lengths. that's just sad man... such a waste of a performance car.
Man when my dad had his S2000 I was in fear of my life when he would be driving... he would weave in and out of traffic in tight places going way to fast... they are right when they say 2 seaters cause aggressive driving, now that he got the TSX he is a little less risky.

maybe he drives at a normal brisk pace as well, just doesnt want to slam through the gear..... I have seen worst.... I have seen ppl in M3's stall at the light, start it up and just mash the gas pedal and drop the clutch.

"middle-aged yuppie looking guy" says it all, he wasn't racing you, he was out to get his half skim milk vanila mocha frapa late, and thats about it...
.....most people that can afford fast cars drive um slow......I don't think I've ever seen a porshe on the streets really ripping it, I've seen more toyota echos ripp down the street than porshes, and its crawling with them here.

Well here in Texas. Most everyone who has enough money to afford an expensive car has the common sense not to drive wrecklessly. But when you drive by the high schools, forget about it. They are nuts. I've been hit twice by punk @ss kids drive crazy through the streets. Then mommy and daddy bail them out. Its just freakin ridiculous.

yeah thats almost 60 MPH. If its a local street isin't that fast? In Montreal the laws are strict. Our maximum speed is 60 mph on the highways. Our normal street speed limits are 31 MPH.

Oh... around here there are plenty of local streets that have limits of 50 and 55 mph, some are down around 35. Highways are anywhere from 55 to 75MPH.

I completely agree. Fast cars are for tracks. Anything more than 5 over is just dangerous on local streets.
A day will come when he becomes a middle age yuppie himself and finds a kid drivig the ***** off a compact car next to him trying to race. He will remember posting this on a forum and say "wow, that was me 10 years ago" and let him pass so he doesent tear up his 40,000 car like he did his compact car 10 years ago trying to race yuppies driving cars he cannot afford.

Are the new cobalts out, cause I seen some crazy dude driving recklessly in a shiny black car with a high wing. This guy cut off a truck and almost hit a fence. Does the Ion Redline also have a high wing.

just so you all know... the speed limit is 55 mph on that street. most people do 65, but i don't speed. i drove the s2000 before, i know that car is awesome. i guess him driving at the same brisk pace would be the only explanation, but still, it sounded like he was winding it out to 8,000 rpm and taking forever to shift. i'm not claiming that my car is fast or i'm a great driver, i'm just calling it as i see.
