here is my questions:

1.) if i get speakers and dont power them with an amp..whats gonna happen?
will i still hear music? lol

1. Sound will come out (I'm pretty sure), but you'll be damaging the speakers. I've read that underpowering speakers is actually worse that overpowering them. So get an amp if you're willing to go for quality components.

2. don't have any amp suggestions off hand.

to clarify winnerpl's post:

If you don't install an amplifier, you will be powering them from the head unit. Aftermarket HU's produce a higher amount of power than factory, but still don't produce the amout of power optimally necessary for full sound reproduction. What you will probably notice is audible distortion as you increase the volume - this is due to lack of power and CAN damage your speakers.

I'd recommend Alpine amps - more expensive, but entirely worth it.

yeah if u put it on volume 10000000..... but if u listen to a normal volume it wont damage them at all............ ive had my alpine type s's for 3 years and perfect still even tho im about to buy an amp for them....
