Did I mess up my car?
It was freezing cold and all my tires and other things had frozen up. So the car was stuck to the ground. I tried pouring hot water under them and finally I was able to break free after hearing a LOUD clunk noise. After that I could feel the ice as I drove off under there turning, but even worse things happened with the brakes. I was holding em at a stop and when I went to take my foot off, I heard this loud noise again kinda like the calipers were sticking or something. It did this for a while and I drove around slowly around town to get everything warm hopefully. Well eventually the noises went away. But do you think this caused damage to anything? What might have happened?

you froze the tires to the ground.. when they broke free that was the "clunk" noise you heard.. sorta like hitting a basketball with a baseball bat... only... more..
as for the breaks.. i dunno what that is.. my guess is some sort of weird condinsation/freezing/friction thing or something from spray getting on them and freezing.. then melting and freezing again as you break... thats my guess anyway.. i could be totaly wrong but i get it every now and then on really cold mornings.. but ive noticed it in every car ive ever owned.. and i remember my moms cars doing it when i was a kid.. so i guess its "normal"
i wouldnt worry about it..

don't worry
here in eastern Canada, it's realy cold and things like
that happen all winter. The brakes feel always weird
in verry cold temp. I can tell you that my Coupe make
a lot of noise when it's cold, like everithing creaking,
motor and tranny acting weird... Don't worry about
your car, also you told us that the noise desapear once
the motor became at the right temp... only water and
ice between pads and rotor...
I hope that help,
Philippe

The brake fluid thickens as it gets that cold, so it makes the brakes feel weird. The clutch will do this too.
If you have a manual, the clutch is the easiest way to tell that this has done, as it makes the clutch feel really weird.

No I dont. I live in Maine and it's freezing here all the time. You'll be fine, your brain is playing tricks on you because you probably are trying to listen for things. I think I hear stuff to but it's no big deal....and I just noticed this its my 1234 post....LOL.
