I just got my 2-way Compustar installed, seems to work really well so far good range, easily expandable, decent price etc. etc.

Ive read around for awhile and picked up a Viper 791XV remote start car alarm. This alarm can be had for about 200 bucks on ebay.

The range is pretty DAMN good. I mean you could go with a compustar or other systems that "advertise" 1.25 mile range etc etc, but jesus who needs that kind of range? ANyway those ranges are calculated in the desert in optimum conditions. yadda yadda yadda.

The range on the Viper 791 is as good and as practical as you would need it, And if ppl say the range on it sucks its becuase their install is bad or they have mirror tint or mounted the antenna wrong. I easily get atleast 1,000 ft of range. Thats probably more then i will ever really need.

the install is pretty easy if you have some experience in car wiring, such as audio.
Over BEST 200 bucks ive spent on my civic to date.

they can add a keyless to a DX, it just requires the use of an aftermarket solenoid to add the power locks to the doors.

circuit city. it only allows you to lock/unlock/remotestart your car from any computer with internet access. i honestly only found this handy for either remote starting your car when youre out of range, or unlocking your doors if you locked your keys inside. its an extra $100 for it.

Really? i love mine! the range is the thing that I liked most cuz i've never had to walk back to my car to lock it if i forgot. im not sure exactly how far the range is but its more than i've ever needed. The only thing is that i got mine for like 280 + installation and I thought that was kinda expensive for not being a viper or a brand that i've heard about. So i just was asking if there something else out there maybe for 300 installed - so like $200 range alarm

everheard of the Lojack system? its like a GPS system or something. i don't know a lot about it- but if its installed on your car and your county uses the system - the cop cars have a locating system that will beep louder and louder or faster and faster as they get nearer to your stolen car. i guess its used in like 85% of Cali by cops

its expensive as hell though because you have to buy each piece seperately. like the GPS is one system. the alarm is another. ign. kill is anther.

i think the alarm and GPS tracker are somewhere around 900 bones

The Viper alarm system offers a GPS module. YOu can locate your car via website, unlock/lock doors, remote start.

Its probably cheaper as well.
