Spark

Do you guys get a spark when you disconnect you negative on you battery and reconnect it? I have not had this happen before (from what I can remember), and it kept happening the other day. Is this a sign that something is wrong?

Sounds like you disconnected the possitive cable first. You should definitely disco the negative side first, then you won't get sparks. Theoretically, sparks could ignite the gasses inside the batter and blow that **** up in your face. Sound like a longshot? Then why'd I spend a night in Mass eye and ear infirmory with my brother when it happened to him? Strange things happen. I'm not one known for my everlasting caution (I drill and grind without safety glasses, I take my helmet off at the NH Border on my Bike etc.) But I do respect electricity and eplosiveness

Seems like disconnecting the positive(only) is a better choice....I don't see why ppl disconnect the negative side when installing ICEs(still breaks the circuit anyway, and a good ECU reset too)....I always disconnect the positive lead on the battery(remove the fuse).....

But I've never seen any spark when discconnecting/connecting the negative lead when the positive is removed....

I did not disconnect any other wires first...I disconnect the negative in order to install a new HU.
