Sub/amp for Reggae/Hiphop/House?
Okay, my buddy this weekend built a ported box (single 12") and put it in his corrolla, so obviously I now am itching to put a sub in my car.....
So I have a few questions/comments to help me with my choice:
1. I was thinking of a single 10" because when I build my ported box I don't want it taking up half my trunk (I value my trunk space).
2. I like to listen to reggae/hiphop/house, so is a 10" sufficient to give the low notes? Should I go with a single 12" keeping in mind my trunk space (my buddy's box is huge and takes up half his trunk)?
3. I have a Pioneer 9300 HU and changed all my stock speakers to the JBL Decade series a while ago.
4. I don't want to be setting off alarms, and would prefer to not be able to hear the thump from the outside.
5. I don't want to spend a whole lot of cash, but am looking for the "best bang for the buck".... maybe around $400 US ($500 CAD) for the components.
6. I don't mind going to ebay for the products.
7. What amp will compliment your sub choice?

Kicker 12" Solobaric $125.00 it takes up VERY small amount of space and how about a kicker 550.2 for an amp $236.00, 275w x 2 @2ohms, which is what your sub would be.
This setup would give you accurate, deep bass and would have plenty of volume but wouldnt be boomy. I myself dont own kicker but they do make good products. And it would only take up 1.5cubic feet. which would be like 12" x 12" x 18"...if my math is correct.
