performance oil?
i just read on clubrsx about a guy claiming that a certain type of oil increased his hp. can this be true? maybe it was a joke? i dont know. he said that it was 0-30w or something close to that. im using 5-20 drive hard now, and am wondering if there is something else better? just thought id throw it into the air.

Well royal purple motor oil claims that there oil increases HP, dont know by how much, but they also claim there oil will last 10k miles between oil changes.
most manufacturers of synthetic oils will claim that they will improve horsepower and gas milage because of the reduced interal friction within the engine. I once had an 89 accord coupe and when I switched to Penzoil synthetic there was a noticeable difference in engine smoothness, gas milage, and the operating temperature of the engine was lower. Can I prove it? No. Have I been brainwashed into thinking this is true? Yes. I use Mobil 1 Full Synthetic 0W-20 in my 04 EX coupe. Don't expect more horsepower, but tests show it is much better at reducing friction and preventing wear.

i switched to amsoil 0w-30 high fuel efficiency oil...35,000 miles w/o a change and only a filter change 12,500
it increases power, fuel efficiency, and provides less vibration
