performance oil?

i just read on clubrsx about a guy claiming that a certain type of oil increased his hp. can this be true? maybe it was a joke? i dont know. he said that it was 0-30w or something close to that. im using 5-20 drive hard now, and am wondering if there is something else better? just thought id throw it into the air.

not really...5w20 is already pretty thin...20w50 vs 0w20 maybe 1-2 hp max...so keep you're 5w20 cause it's a very good oil with a good additives package...

most manufacturers of synthetic oils will claim that they will improve horsepower and gas milage because of the reduced interal friction within the engine. I once had an 89 accord coupe and when I switched to Penzoil synthetic there was a noticeable difference in engine smoothness, gas milage, and the operating temperature of the engine was lower. Can I prove it? No. Have I been brainwashed into thinking this is true? Yes. I use Mobil 1 Full Synthetic 0W-20 in my 04 EX coupe. Don't expect more horsepower, but tests show it is much better at reducing friction and preventing wear.

I run Redline 5w20. This motor isn't making enough power to show up. Alot of high power engines will gain some, but they are usually making >500hp.

i switched to amsoil 0w-30 high fuel efficiency oil...35,000 miles w/o a change and only a filter change 12,500

it increases power, fuel efficiency, and provides less vibration
