I am looking for some tweeters but I don't know what to look for when buying these. I just want some good high end SQ. They don't have to be heard from 1 mile away like a tim box. Just some good tweeters.

I have infinity reference tweeters wired off deck power. They sound pretty good, but I paid $80.

80 buck dont sound that bad to me. are they a real high pitched "tsst" or are just nice? that real high pitched noise gets on my nerves.

Properly? I was just gonna wire them up like the stock ones are wired... they are just splice into the speaker wires.

some people wire them to an aftermarket deck with the door speaker and give the HU a 2 ohm load, blowing the internal amp, that's what he meant

How much different will this make it sound? Dont forget i have a 200w amp pushing the door speakers and current tweets.

well if you have a 2 channel amp, it'll take 2 ohm loads, you could hook both tweet and in door speaker up to the same channel

Who wants a 2-ohm load with tweeters and coaxials? Why not go 8 ohm, you'll never notice the 3db you lose and you won't have as much distortion in the end anyway

i would go with a silk tweeter over metal....silk tweets take away that extremely high pitched ear bleeding sound....I have the alpine type x components in the front of my car and they sound AWESOME!

I believe infinity has a silk dome tweeter. Doesn't sound harsh at all, and they're mounted away from my ears anyway. Still can be heard very well tho just running off deck power (other speakers are on an amp).
