Need Help Coilover Install.

I have installed a set of coilover sleeves on my 2002 Civic LX and everything goes together fine in the front suspension, but the rear is where I am having problem getting the car to lower.

I used the DIY yourself page to get instructions on the spring install, but with coilovers I must be missing something to remove on the factory shock assembly because when I lower the vehicle the car does not go the approriate lowering amount. Should I have remove a certain washer, nut, or shock piece. Any help would be great.

the rear takes some time to settle. It does not have the weight of the engine. You can jump on the trunk or give it a few days to let it settle.

Thanks for the reply, I do understand that the rear suspension takes a bit of time to settle due to the reduced weight.

When I lower the car down from the jack stands after installing the coilover setup, the vehicle still looks like it is at stock height no matter what lowering height I have selected on the coilover setup. Any thoughts?

The best way to determine that is to measure the ride height with a measuring tape each time you lower it to see how low you are going.

MrWong,
I appreciate your suggestion, and I have been measuring ride height, and each time I am getting the same measurement. Stock height. I believe that I may have a solution to the problem now, however. I think that I need to not include the stock washer that goes on the thinner neck of the stock shock rod, this will allow the coilover top ring/large washer to depress the shock when necessary.

To get a midlevel drop, do I put the tightening ring half way up the sleeve, or do I put it at the top or bottom?

I have the dropsone coilovers which I believe, and know arent the best, but that's what I have to work with.

At this point I am ****ing up to many things to continue to mess with the whole thing. I have stripped a lug stud and bolt, i have also stripped 3 of the 4 strut tower bolts. So this is begining to get expensive. I could just purchase the correct springs and call it a day.

you know what dude, i had the same problem with a set of coilover! OmG it was soooooooooo frustrating. After 4 install attempts with no proper drop, I ended up purchasing a set of neuspeed racing springs and a SPC camber kit and called it a day.

What up static, I did the same thing this evening. I just purchased a set of Dropzone springs and also called it a day. I do need to purchase a camber kit though. My drop is only 2"'s and does not look like it needs a kit.

well just because you place the perch on the middle doesnt mean your going to have a drop thats halfway from stock to no gap. try dumping the perch all the way to the bottom, if its still at stock height than yeah somethings wrong but i'm sure this will solve your "problem".
