premiers have more features that people who are only going to buy a cd player really won't care about. like higher preamp outputs, better EQ's.

WHen i bought a pioneer 7400, the store ran out of the and gave me a premier 740, i really dont' think there's too much of a difference except or a better warranty and higher preamp voltage liek said above.
