GT28 or T3 super 60?
GT28 or T3 super 60?
hey guys I am faced with a choice this weekend. I bought an HKS manifold already and was gonna hook it up to a GT28 Garrett turbo. Ultimatley im looking to end up with 275 to 300 whp after all is done. I have an opppertunity to buy a Log style tubular manifold with a t3 flange. so i would hook that up to a t3 super 60. now i know the gt28 is gonna spool faster but im sure that the t3 super 60 is gonna make more HP at the same psi. so the question is what do you guys think? which is gonna best fit my goal?
return fuel system(slp) emanage, RSX injectors, divided down pipe, 3" exhaust, port and polish, arias pistons, crowler rods, upgraded fuel pump, new head gasket...
not off the bat but when all is said and done.I don;t expect 275-300hp off the bat. no way, but what will get me there the most efficient

hmm...a t3 will forshure have enough flow capacity to make 275whp i think. IM sure the disco potato could do the same, but im not too sure about the gt28. Id say even with all the things you want to do 275WHP is still a super high goal. Many many other things are going to be needed to run that much power on our cars. Tranny/clutch/radiator etc.. will most likely need to be visited to allow for that ammount of power Bottom line i think either turbo would be fine for what you want. The gt28 might be running out of breath, but i dont know forshure. Im just speculating.
yeah thats what im guessing. of course im gonna upgrade the clutch and flywheel. koyo radiator and FAL fans. But it looks like were not gonna be twins anymore baller. I think im gonna end up goin t3
Good luck, for your goals i say the T3. Its going to be interesting seeing the numbers between you two (big baller and hyaboosta). Right now i hope by january i will see 230-250whp, after i dyno at 10psi in sept and upgrade some internals and fuel system. What manifold is it that you are using?
its gonna be a long wait untill my car is boosted, so i hope you can wait for numbers! I want to do it right the first time, and i dont wanna have to deal with boost in the winter. Atleast this winter!
JW:decided on you're fuel set-up yet?
Boosta: so you're going to get the manifold that abmerop is gettin'?

How are the log style manifolds?
Are they ok?
compred to the (tubular?) manifolds are they that much different.
Ill be getting a new job and i think i can start to piece together a turbo kit
sorry back on topic

baller, im getting a manifold from someone locally in miami. it used to be spdrcrchk's but she didn't use it then she sold it to him but he's not gonna go turbo either. so if it looks good im gonna get it. Plus it's gonna be cheaper in the end cause the t3 super 60 is 595 new and the gt28 is 789
^yah the t3's are alot cheaper than the gt hybrids, just because its older technology i believe. The newer gt turbos have a different design for the turbine and comp wheels. I think it will be close between the two. Like bigger less efficient turbo VS. smaller more efficient turbo! IM pretty sure these are the differences, but i could be wrong! Anyways keep us updated on you're progress. IM really excited to see some other members get boosted!

(just because i am getting it)
