Question lower console (w/ cigarette lighter) removal for ipod install... help?

I've been looking up some info for trying to install an iPod in my 2003 Civic sedan, and found some good resources.

I haven't ever messed around with car electronics before, but from the first link it definitely seems like something I could do. My problem is getting the lower console panel removed, supposedly you can just pull it off? I tried pulling at it but couldnt get a good grip, and didnt want to break anything.

My interior looks like this guy's (except mine's manual): http://www.vancouvercivics.com/forum...d.php?tid=9240
with the swiveling cup holder cover, which is slightly different from the car stereo installation DIY on 7thgencivic that shows the console panel removal (without cup holder cover).

Anyways, I'm just wondering if it really is that simple where I can just pull off that panel, reach up behind the stereo, and plug in the aux input converter... if so, I'm definitely going to try this out. Any help from you guys would be appreciated, or any other stories/pics of similar installations, etc... I'd love to check 'em out.

i just got done putting this part back into my car actually.. anyways.. i have a 5 speed '03 coupe.. i doubt sedan is different.and first you have to take off the shift ****.. then remove the shifter boot panel.. the plastic square with the boot in the middle.. which you just pry off.. and then youll see two screws holding that cigarette lighter panel down.. remove the two screws..pop out 6 verticle clips.. 3 on the left side.. 3 on the right.. or 2 + 2 and 4 total.. i forget.. then theres 4 more clips.. two on the right side of the cigarette lighter.. and two on the left side.. you just pull it straight out.. and dont forget to unplug the lighter harness.. if its an automatic.. its probably the same..except i dont know how to remove the shifter panels
