Hey , i just installed a cold air intake into my 04 civic. Took me about 1 hr to install, after testing all the hoses , wires ect. i took it for a drive. In 2 hrs i drove it a few times. came home and about 1 hr later i took it out but when i started it out i heard a humming sound. Im not sure if its coming from the filter area or not cant single out the sound location. Is this normal kinda sounds like a lower humming sound as if u was to blow into a empty bottle or somthing , it does sound like its coming from the side of the intake tho.
If anyone knows anything about this please let me know pm email or what ever .
Thanks alot

Intakes make all sorts of noises. But here's something to think about. I've been through an AEM intake and now a K&N fipk (supposed to be the best). Recently I've also found out that the filters that come with these intakes (made by K&N), do a worse job of filtering air than stock paper filters. So I've gone back to the stock intake and am getting a napa gold paper filter next week. Do you really want to risk ruining your engine over time for a couple of hp?

I cleaned around the throttle body and it was filthy black. I still couldn't get all of it out, but it's pretty good I guess. Just clean the area under the butterfly valve with TB cleaner.

well, cone filters filter better when they are dirty, ive taken my filter off my injen cai several times, been through my throttle body a few times and its been perfectly clean, not a speck of contamination.
and yes, what you hear is called vacuum, its your car sucking in air without a resonator.
