Got an RSX-Type S !!!

I gave my Civic to my ex wife because she could no longer afford the payments and gas to her '02 4Runner. So we traded vehicles. Of course, I already knew what I was going to do. I went to Acura right after we traded and gave them the Toyota and left the lot in a NBP Acura RSX-Type S. Now my payments are close to what the Toyota was at, only $20 more, and I got the 2.9% they were offering for this Memorial Day weekend sale. So I think we both got a great deal! I was going to do the swap for the civic but hell, I got a better car and the K20!!! I am thrilled. I will have to display pics of it when I get them. I still want to stay with this site although I am now an Acura owner..... 200Hp, awesome, although I havent broken it in yet, only had 4 miles when I drove it off the lot. How many miles do you guys recommend before I open it up. I was thinking 1,000?

no no no, did not trade the civic. I traded an '02 Toyota 4Runner for it. Would not sell the civic for anything, but now its not up to me, but the ex wife. It is all hers now... All I know is that I am happy.

dont take my word for this
my bro use to work for those iuno 18 wheel trucks
he says that when they break in the engine, they put the throttle all the way open (he says go 60 but no more) so the oils in the piston reach the maximum distance away (top to bottom) and put alot of weight on your car so i will get use to the pull.
i did it, i drove my car in the freeway when i first got it. works fine.

oh yea, you need to break in your breaks too.
my bro said, dont step on the break pad then let go then step on it again.
he recommends taking a nice soft long breaking distance.

Congrats on your K20 swap . I waited until 1000 miles, but that's me. I believe the manual recommends at least 600 (could be wrong).

What do you have planned for mods?

Drive the car easy for the first 300 miles. Then very the revs around from 300-600. The push the car alittle more, but don't beat it hard for about 200 miles more. Once you hit about 800 to 1000 miles your good to go. Don't forget though, they motor will not fully break in till about 3K. Maybe more. I just picked up a 04 Type S tonight and thats they way i was told to break it in my many different Type S Owners.
