Draining Tranny Fluid?
Hey everyone, I tried to change my transmission fluid today following the DIY I found on the site. I found the right bolt, but for some reason the bolt, which I was pretty sure was the right bolt because it was the one by the subframe and the only one with the washer on it, was completely round, not square like the DIY said. There was something in the middle of the bolt that felt like I tool could fit in, but I was not sure what type it was. Maybe an allen wrench or something. But anyways, I'm just going to take it to a professional to get it replaced, but use the fluid that I bought. Does anyone know for future reference how I get the bolt off? Also, if I use Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF, how long will this stuff last before I have to replace it? Thanks.
Hi ZSXCivic01:
Yes, the bolt (drain plug) is round. In the center of the plug is a 3/8 "
square depression that you can use a 3/8" drive ratchet or breaker bar to remove. I hope this helps on your next fluid change.
Also, be sure to use HONDA Z1 fluid. Hope this helps. Tuffy7
