how to reqire wire harness for new gauge cluster

ok i know that SI/RSX gauge clusters have different harness for the wires and hookups. people have said that if you get a wiring diagram, you can rewire the Civic harness to adapt to the different gauge cluster harness.

ok knowing a little bit more about wiring after some snoopin around the site and my ECU harnesses, i wanna clarify my thinking to see if im right or not.

so the actual plugs are different for the RSX clusters. so would i have to get rid of the plugs on the Civic harness and get one that matches that of the cluster? then woudl i have to pull each wire out individually out of the Civic harness and, following the pin diagram of the civic/RSX, match them up? like wire for tach needle control from civic has to match up to the tach needle control wire to the RSX cluster? am i makgin sense?

it would be helpful if anyone could clarify this for me. thanks!!!

Your cluster is good the way it is. It's gonna be a big hassle swapping from a different car. Even with wire pin diagrams for both cars (if you can find them), there may be differences in signal protocols. Assuming they are compatible, you're gonna have to match each wire pin by pin.
