shaving trunk lock?

I've been wondering if it's easy to shave the trunk hole without painting the whole lid. Is it easy to take out the lock? I never open my trunk anyway, and I'd rather not have it there. Thanks for any input.

it can be done, but the paint won't match. That is why you should paint the whole trunk to match the paint with the rest of your car. You can take it out, fill it with bondo and paint over it, but if you want a good look, I suggest getting the whole think painted.

I'm guessing it's going to be the same process like shaving the two holes from the H. Same principle. So LOCKED

SquirrelCivic is an unknown quantity at this point
i shaved mine off already. just welded a little piece of sheet metal in the hole after i took out the lock , and then filled it with fiberglass filler. i went on and painted the whole trunk . it's too hard to blend the paint otherwise. the lock is easy to take out . just two bolts in the lock part and a clip holding the rod on the latch .

How did you paint it to match the rest of the car? You work for a bodyshop?
