Car shakes when i hit the pedal

Hey guys. My car is shaking whenever I'm accelerating. I notice the more I push the pedal, the more it shakes, but once I hit 3,000rpm, it seems fine again, regardless of the gear I'm in. The car has 50k on it. I dont think its plugs, I put bosch plats in 30k ago. Tried Dry gas, Tried a full fuel/injector cleaner that the guy at Pep Boys recommended. Some people I've talked to say it might be the fuel filter, some are saying it could be the throttle sensor. I'm not really sure what to do. Please Help!

Try the plugs anyway, even if you just put in a cheap set. I have had the odd Bosch plug mess up on me, even new. It's a headscratcher, but it happened. BTW, that was specifically with Bosch Platinums. I think the center electrode broke inside.

you may have over-torqued the plugs. Like Timman said, the center electrode broke inside.

good thing you found the problem, Ive had similar problems with an older toyota that turned out to be a bad o2 sensor.

Guys, (and Gals) Bosh platinums have a certain failure rate. If you put in a brand new set, and the engine shakes even a week later, check the plugs right where the tiny center electrode is. It will most likely be missing. I like Bosch plugs, when they work right. But sometimes it takes 2 tries to get a good set that isn't flawed. Overtightening won't crack the electrode, only strip the cylinder head.

hey guys. the problem is acting up again. looks like its a short in the spark plug wires. just a coincidence that when i put the new plugs in, it must have temporarily fixed the connection. anyone know a good place i can pick up a nice set of replacement wires and coils?

Our cars don't use wires. It's a direct ignition system with coils. There are aftermarket coils, but they are worse than stock. Oh and those bosch plugs suck in our cars.

i know our cars have direct coils, but if you read my post, there's a short somewhere. i understand that the coils are right on the plugs, but there is still wires that connect to the coils. if i move the wires around and push down on the coils my car usually runs fine till somethin shifts and loosens up again. i dont neccessarily want anything after market, because you really cant get any better than direct coil. i just want to pick up a set of replacement coils and wires like i said, and i dont know where to go. id rather not get raped by a dealer. thanks!

Check out hondaautomotiveparts.com for prices a little less than most dealers.
