EP3 Civic Type R Shocks

Hi all, I was thinking of swapping my 2001 civic sedan shocks for the EP3 Civic Type R shocks. Anyone here has done that ? I learnt from another member here that the EP3 uses a 16mm upper bolt to hold the shock in place with the knuckle arm as compared to our civics which uses a 14mm bolt. I was thinking if the bolt was 16mm then it will not fit the knuckle arm on our cars already. Anyone knows ? Another thing is that at the koni website, it is stated that the konis for the EP3 Civic type R are of a different part number from our EM civics. It is not gas but hydraulic. Isn't gas shock absorbers suppose to provide better damping ? Why does koni come up with an insert which is hydraulic for a much better performing car, EP3 Civic Type R ? Anyone here using the EP3 Civic Type R koni inserts on their EM rides ? If they are of the same diameter and perform better, it would be better to get them rather than the EM replacement konis. By the way, they are damping adjustable as well.

just curious, but what makes you think that CTR shocks will be better then the Konis?

I would thing the CTR shocks are better as the car was built for the track. The shocks should be able to take hard trashing. Right now I just need to know if they can fit the EM. Since the cost of the CTR shocks are the same cost as the Konis, it would be good to get them as they are direct replacement. When these fail, we can still get replacement inserts from konis.

That is if you are using the Tein flex coilovers. I am referring to the OEM shocks for the EP3 CTR.

they will fit without anything needed i was replying to crazycakes guys post i would just get a full set of coilovers if i was u though not worth ruining a set of shocks that ur gonna pay for when they arent made to preform with lowering and what not

well if its going on a sedan.. be prepared for some rear end sagging...

the rear shocks arent made for supporting that extra weight...
