A couple Questions for the experts...

Ok here's my questions:

I heard somewhere that KW's where mainly for racing and motorcross not for street use. is this true?

If they are a good product for street use, Is the damper adjustable? If I understand all this suspension stuff correctly the dampaning is what determines if the car rides stiff or not, or am I wrong? If Im wrong what determines for a smoother ride?

Also if Im not mistaking Tein dosent make the Flex series for our cars yet so Im looking into getting either the Tein SS or the KW's with the new upper bearings if anyone can tell me wether their good for street use or not.

I was looking into getting the Tein Basics because of the cost but from reading some comments it seems t o ride a little stiff and riding in the car wit my daughter I dont want that.

I already have Skunk2's with my factory shocks and I was debating on getting the Koni's and KW's upper bearing kit and make my own full coilover kit since those shocks have adjustable dampaning.

Please help I have the money but I wanna know the right way to go.

I have read the other threads about suspension but nothing that really answered my questions I dont know much about suspension so these maybe stupid questions, but I know a hell of alot of car audio stuff.

Thanx in advanced.

KW does make a lot of race products, but the V2 is designed for the street. Though they are tuned for Performance over Ride quality (Or at least is seems that way with the spring rates listed). they Do have adjustible shocks, and you are partially right about how shocks influence ride quality.

The primary part that influences Ride quality (Stiff Vs Soft) are the springs. a Low spring rate will give you a soft ride and a High spring rate will give you a Stiff ride. Shocks do influence this a bit, but springs are the primary part here.

Tein Does make a Flex damper that fits our cars (EP version) and Both the SS and the KW V2 would do fine on the street.

If you think the Tein Basics are going to be too stiff then the Flex and the KW V2 are all going to be MUCH stiffer, the SS has the same spring rate as the Basic so it shoud give about the same ride but with adjustible shocks).

Spring rates....
KW V2 350 LB/In front 500 LB/In rear
Tein:
Basic 336 LB/IN Frong 448 LB/IN rear
SS 336 LB/IN Frong 448 LB/IN rear
Flex 448 LB/IN Frong 559 LB/IN rear

Of all of these , the Basic and the SS will give you the softest ride. I dont konw what the spring rate of the Skunk 2 is.

Getting a set of konis would be a good decision, if you are satisfied with the Skunk2s that is. they will help performance and smooth out the ride a bit (Less Bounce) but they will make the ride a little stiffer. For the KW upper mounts, I dont konw if they will fit a Non KW suspension.

he answered most of your questions. The basics aren't adjustable for their dampening only the SS is. I would suggest teins for you.
