Once I turn my car on the gauges light up a nice, glowling blue.. but then when I put my headlights on it gets hit with lights from my old gagues in the back of it and looses luster, how can I fix this? does it involve removing the old gauges?
on the guage cluster, there are two ***** that stick out. The one on the right, if you push it changes the milage display to trip meters. The one on the left if you twist it left and right, it will make the light coming out of the cluster dimmer or brighter. Try dimming the lights. The downside of this is the light on the radio buttons and other pieces of the dash that can be lit up will also dim.

when I do that the whole thing dims, its like the blue shuts off and just lights blue from the light behind it, i spliced into the red/black line in the blue connector like supposed to but this happens..
hmm....
you could take the led bulbs out of the cluster or mask them off. Since the indiglos provide their own light, there's really no use of the OEM face.
if you lift up the oem faces (like peel them up), you can see where the light comes from. Mask it off with tape or electrical tape, and the light won't get through. I'm planning on doing this. I'm swapping my DX cluster to an EX, and the SRS light will always stay on because its in a DX. I'm just going to put tape over the SRS slot, under the gauge face, and it won't be a sore sight anymore.

You may have wired it wrong. Dimming the stock lights should not affect the indiglos. What kind of gauges did you get? I thought all gauges would completely block the stock light from coming through.
^^^ yea ur lights are obviously connected wrong.. they are not supposed to just turn on with the car... ur supposed to wire them to the wire that gets power when u turn ur lights on.. and as far as the light coming threw from behind... u must have really shitty ebay gauges cause they're supposed to be think enough that , that doesnt happen.
