Double clutching in the short run isnt that bad, but long term will seriously cut down the life of your clutch. Good for racing!!! Bad for daily beater!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know!! Double Clutching is only good on vehicles that have trannies with no syncros, like old Ford F-600 trucks, I know because I drove one for a while. Not only that but double clutching would really hurt your time in a drag race, unless you have super hero reflexes.

I don't think there's been a need to double clutch in many many many yeras.
Errr, well, double clutching doesn't do anything to help you car, so there doesn't really need to be an in-depth answer. Just don't do it
Double clutching's made for cars without syncro, just like solar said. And like solar said, cars without a syncro need those extra steps to engage the gear. With a syncromesh, it acts like a mediator between the engine and the tranny/wheels, allowing them to match up without the gears crunching.
All you need to know is that you don't need to do it. It's like asking what the negative effects of a carburetor are on a fuel-injected car. No sense in asking about something that's outdated.

Clutch. Neutral. Rev. Clutch. Gear. Go.
It's basically revving between shifts. Someone once told me it was used to keep the car in VTEC while shifting, but if you can't keep it high while shifting, you shouldn't be driving manual in the first place.
